How I store my Makeup (My organised mess)

Hi Guys, first of I'd like to say a huuuge thanks for all your messages of support and kind words towards my blog and my first post it means so much especially with me being anxious to see peoples responses so thank you.  It feels so strange that I finally actually have a blog after all this time! Even though my blog will be mainly fashion based I haven't got a chance to wear anything other than my work uniform or my pajamas over the weekend so I won't have an outfit post up until Tuesday probably. I will also be blogging about my trip to Amsterdam which I'm so excited for, I've heard such great things about it and can't wait to explore.

I was cleaning my room earlier (a rare occurrence) and while cleaning my makeup drawers I thought that I would share how I store my makeup and makeup brushes. I recently bought the Alex Drawer unit from IKEA that has 9 drawers, which is perfect for storing makeup and beauty products. I found that my makeup was always all over my desk making it impossible to ever do any college work on my desk without me having to clear off the whole thing and smashing makeup in the process. These drawers really help to keep my room tidy and makes it so much easier to find what product I'm looking for, even if it is an organised mess its just that; organised.

On top of my drawer unit I keep my MAC and Inglot lipsticks, my perfume and my setting spray, along with some of my things to make it look pretty.

My first drawer is where I keep the majority of my eyeshadow palettes, I have yet to try out the Anastasia Beverly hills modern renaissance palette so I will definitely do a review and swatches of it when I do! I rarely reach for my naked palette anymore since buying the too faced semi sweet palette and the Naked Ultimate basics palette.

The next drawer down is my eyelash drawer, The SoSu 'Holly' eyelashes are my absolute favorites at the moment, they always sell out so fast in Penneys! I also keep my Inglot eyeshadows and my BH cosmetics palette in this drawer as they are what I tend to lean towards when I'm going out and wearing lashes.

Next up is my drawer where I keep my foundations, concealers, face powders and primers. I love trying out new foundations, as you can probably tell. I recently tried the L.A girl pro coverage foundation because I'm such a big fan of the concealers and was not disappointed, such a great product!

The fourth drawer is where I keep my highlighters, blushes, eyeliners, pigments, cream contour palette, mascara and bronzer. It probably looks like a mess to you but I promise it makes sense to me. Highlighting is my all time favorite part of doing my makeup, I've been loving champagne pop from Becca for when I have tan on and the mary-loumanizer from the Balm when I don't. The sleek highlighting palettes are also so pigmented and leave you glowing.

The last drawer (of makeup) is filled with my lip products. Im a huge fan of the NYX Lip lingerie liquid lipsticks and also of the NYX butter glosses, I usually stick to nudes and brown shades (can you tell?)

Lastly I store my makeup brushes in two little flower pots I also bought in IKEA, because, lets be honest IKEA is the best for everything.
The other 4 drawers are filled with hair bobbins, hairspray, sunglasses and is never really organised, not even in my own way, and isn't very interesting at all. Thank you so much for reading and I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening, I know I will!

Lots of Love,

Welcome to my blog!

It took me the longest time to think of what I could write about for my first blog post, so eventually I decided just to do a small introduction before the actual outfit posts and product reviews etc that I'll be posting over the coming weeks, I'm gonna keep it short and sweet so here it goes:

                                                                        Hi im Charleen!

I'm an 18 year old fashion lover and this is my blog 'Freckles and Fashion' ( I hope that it is quite obvious as to why I picked that name). I have just recently dropped out of my college course and I've been wanting to start a blog for a few years now so now that I have a lot of spare time on my hands before I start a new course in September I decided that there is no better time to start it!
I  actually started a blog 2 years ago when I was in school and gave it up just a few weeks later so I put off the idea for a while, I felt a bit disheartened but I just had so little time for it being in school and to be honest I didn't tell a lot of people about it being too afraid what people would think of it and say about it.

Its not that I amn't nervous about sharing this blog because I am,  and putting yourself out there in any way is daunting for anybody,  but I think that after 2 years of contemplating starting a new one I've just kind of decided just to do it and stop waiting around because I know that I would have never been content until I had made it. It's also a new years resolution of mine that , yes, it is a month late but I'm notoriously late for everything so the starting of my blog is of course no different.

Getting more into the reading of blogs and following more blogs on social media also really made me want to create a blog even more. Suzanne Jackson, also known as SoSueMe has been my main influence on me wanting to start a blog since she visited my school and gave a talk on how she got started, its crazy to see how much her blog and her brand have grown over the last 3 years of following her. Niamh Cullen from Behind the Braids and Joanne Larby, also known as The Make-up Fairy have also really inspired me to create this blog and its so great to see so many Irish Men and Women make it big in the blogging industry!

My blog will be mainly Fashion and Beauty based, but I will also be writing some travel and lifestyle posts the odd time as I love travelling and taking photos along the way and of course sharing them. Some of my favourite places to shop would be high street stores like Topshop, River island and Penneys ( I work there so I never fail to come home empty handed). I'm also a huge fan of online shopping sites such as Missguided and Asos, theres something so much better about receiving a package in the post compared to going into a shop and buying something, then again that could just be me...

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read, I'm sure you'll hear from me again very soon,

Lots of Love,

Charleen x
