March favourites : Beauty & Fashion

Hey Guys! I hope you're all good. Seeing as its (scarily) so close to April I thought I'd do a little round up of all my favourite fashion and beauty bits that ive picked up this month that I am loving!

My first favourite which I have found myself reaching for so often and that I can't recommend enough is the Modern Renaissance palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills, the colours are so pigmented and are so soft making them so easy to blend, definitely a great palette for anyone who isn't confident with doing eyeshadow because of it being so easy to blend!

My next is a fashion favourite, I'm literally obsessed with anything orange at the moment, I just think it suits everyone and is so so pretty when paired with gingham. Its also just such a cute colour for summer time. This is one of the orange pieces I picked up from Zara

My next favourite are my Aluxe Sunnies, they are in the style 'Bora Bora' and they are gold frames with black lenses, theyre such good quality and they look fab. They were just under €20 I think and I can tell they won't bend out of shape or snap because of how sturdy they feel!

Another product I've been loving is the bBold smart mousse fake tan, it goes on so smoothly and evenly so no streaks! It leaves such a nice golden colour, I would definitely recommend trying this if you love tan!

Next up is a foundation I have used in the past but have now kind of re-discovered I guess, it is the Rimmel lasting finish 25 hour foundation, I use the colour soft beige. I first purchased this after I heard it was a favourite of Kim Kardashian (don't quote me on that, the article could've been written by anyone haha). Anyway, Kardashian favourite or not, it lasts all day and gives such a nice buildable coverage, if you're looking to try a new cheap foundation give this one a go.

So thats it for this months favourites, I'll probably start doing a post like this every month, as I personally love reading other peoples and trying out their recommendations!
Thank you for reading & I have you all have a fab week,
Lots of love,

Berlin : What I wore

Hey guys I hope you're all well. So im back nearly two weeks from my trip to Berlin at this stage (and I'm already looking up more places to visit) so I thought I'd do a little run through of what I wore there, I'm going to make this short & sweet. I'm still going to do a post on my actual trip including any advice or tips I have when visiting the city.

Like I mentioned in my what I wore in Amsterdam post, I always think dressing comfortably for the aiport/plane portion of a trip is the best way to go, I opted for a converse Top and Leggings set that I got in JD, I knew it would be cold in Berlin so I wore a dark green and black jacket that I got in Topshop, for shoes I went with my white air max 90's. As we landed quite late in the evening we didn't go out very far past our hotel so I stayed in what I traveled in,

The next day we went out exploring and looking back my choice of shoe was not the best. I wore a white oversized t-shirt from missguided, a corset belt from asos and a missguided jumpsuit underneath. My boots are from h&m and somehow I managed to walk around all day in them, (currently patting myself on the back).

Later on it was time for drake and another pair of high shoes. I wore a dress that I bought literally 2 years ago from missguided but had only worn it once. I wore my new black strappy block heels from new look that were such a steal for only €13!

The next day we went out into the city again (this time I decided against the boots and opted for runners) I wore my pink jumper from penneys/primark, fishnets from River Island, a cap from Topman, a shirt from h&m under the jumper and again my air max 90's. I got the stares all day from people confused as to why I was wearing tights when it was quite cold out and people questioning my jumper. We actually went by a group of joggers and one actually fell flat on her face because she was looking at me (and the overly bright jumper). Hope shes ok lol.

Later on we went out so I had to change yet again, I went quite casual wearing my high waisted black jeans from missguided and a penneys/primark bralet with my air max 90's (which so didn't go with my outfit but there the only runners I brought so they had to do me) I also wore a new choker I bought in Primark over there.

Going home I just wore a jumper and tracksuit bottoms which I didn't get a picture of, so many outfits so little time. I hope you enjoyed my post, as always thanks for reading, lots of love.

My Elite Hair Extensions Review

Hey guys, I hope you're all having a lovely start to the week. I'm just back from my trip to Berlin, I had the best time there and I'll have a blogpost up alll about that hopefully later this week!

So just before I left for Berlin I got hair extensions put in. I had thought about changing up my hair for quite a while, I thought about changing the colour to a lighter colour only to come to the conclusion that going much lighter would damage my hair which would then cause it not to grow! I never really thought extensions worked for my length hair but I done my research & hundreds 'before and after' pictures later I decided I wanted long hair again.

I asked around and looked for the best place to go, I was very picky which you should be, it is your hair after all and when extensions are done badly, its very obvious. I fell in love with Aideen Murphy's extensions when she posted them on her instagram - @aideenkatemakeup (who if you aren't following already you should, her makeup is always amaze), so I decided to contact her hair girl, the fab Sarah (@sarahethell on instagram) after a chat I decided to book in and get elite hair extensions. Sarah is so friendly and happy to answer any (of my many) questions. Sarah is a freelance hairdresser so everything was done in the comfort of my own home which was perfect.

I first had a colour match appointment where Sarah matched my hair colour to the extensions and talked me through the whole process. A few days later it was time for me to get them in. The process was so quick, around an hour and a half I believe, it was all comfortable and time flew by! Sarah uses Keratin bonds which don't damage your hair which I was so happy to hear as I had always thought that extensions do damage to your hair.

After putting them all in she cut them to my desired length and made my hair blend with them. After the cutting was done she curled them and I fell in love. The hair is so soft and I can't stop touching it, the colour match is also absolutely perfect! Its crazy how hair can make you look and feel so different.

The extensions can last up to 4 months if taken care of properly. The maintenance at first sounded a bit daunting to me (my short hair was very low maintenance) but it actually isn't hard work at all.
I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone, shes so lovely, quick and professional and makes you feel so comfortable.

If you have any questions at all you can contact me via instagram (@charleenmurphy)
Thanks for reading, lots of love,

Primark / Penneys lip kit review

Hi Guys, I hope you're all having a lovely Sunday. My week off for my spring holidays started today and because its so rare that I have a Sunday off work I'm definitely taking full advantage of it by doing absolutely nothing allll day & staying in my pjs, also doing a bit of prep for my trip to Berlin in 3 days!

I went away on Monday for a night for a stay in a lovely hotel called Moyvalley hotel and golf resort and it was such a nice little break away even it was just for a night, I'd definitely recommend it to stay in, the rooms are fab and the hotel just has such a cosy vibe to it and having been a Monday night it was lovely and quiet.

Working in Penneys you see everything first (which is both a blessing and a curse), so when I saw these kylie lip kit dupes for only €4 had to buy them & try them out.

The 2 shades are 'cookie dough' - the lighter peachy shade on top and 'chocolate brownie'- the dark brown shade below.

Let me start by talking about the lip liners, the liners in these kits are so creamy making them a dream to apply, Even if I hated the actual matte lipstick I would still consider buying the kit just for the lip liner! I love using the brown liner to line my lips and blending it in and then and popping a nude gloss over it. As regards to staying power I would say the liners last pretty long, it even stayed on after eating a spicebag and that rarely happens with any liner.

The actual matte lipsticks are really easy to apply and very pigmented, I also really like the wand as it is quite small making it easy to use. They dry very matte which I don't mind as I wear a gloss over most matte lipsticks to save my lips from going dry during the day, this may be a problem for someone who doesn't like wearing a gloss on top . They stay on well too apart from when eating oily foods (I had deep fried mushrooms and it all came off, apart from the liner) but I think that most lipsticks would and I don't have a problem with having to reapply it!

Below are two ways that I like to wear mine:

Here I used the brown lipliner with a nude lipstick in the middle and the NYX butter gloss in Madeline on top.

This is before I applied any gloss, I used the brown lip liner and the peach matte lipstick in the centre and patted them together to blend.

I hope you enjoyed reading my little review on these lipkits and thank you so much for reading, any questions or blogpost requests send me DM on instagam (@charleenmurphy) and I'll get back to you!

Have a fab week, lots of love,

Charleen x
